Ok so there is a link for her pics,if it doesn’t work then when you cup ur hand almost half way,her head and abdomen is the size of the circle when you cup ur hand almost half way, then of course her legs reach out. Btw,she attacked a small/medium sized cricket this morning around 12:00 ish pm,but now it is 6:57pm and she STILL is ******* the insides out of it!She kinda has a cobweb string coming from her little bottom leading to where she is ******* the cricket from,is that normal? I thought it only took a couple hours for them to devour cricket’s insides out! My sister used to own a Red Kneed Tarantula or whatever ya call them, they look like Rose Haired Tarantulas, but it was full grown and it only took about 3 hours for it to **** the insides out of the cricket. My younger bro(11) suggested maybe it’s fangs can’t retract them from the cricket and they are stuck, but I doubt that. Also when I blow on her lightly she will start moving around and climbing on the screen cage, but she never let go of the cricket,I thought she would drop it. So basically if you know ANYTHING about Pink Toed Tarantulas and how long it takes for a baby to eat one, that would be great if you could tell me,and also if you think there is something wrong with how long it is taking her to eat the cricket, then please tell me so I can do something about it!!

There is no set time for a baby spider or any spider to eat a cricket. I have a small chilean rose who take a while to eat and I have a costa rican zebra who is the same size and goes through a large cricket in about 20 Min’s . The web is a normal thing. If you blow on it and it moves around then it’s trying to get away from you and protect its food from you which it views as a bigger predator. So far everything is normal leave her alone and check her in the am it will be gone.

I wouldn’t be concerned. Tarantulas will eat when they are hungry. She may have just killed it and hasn’t decided to eat it yet. Tarantulas can go months without food if they have to. She will be fine.
